Lisa Pate, Licensed Clinical Social Worker..
.. a little bit about me
Hi, I'm Lisa (and that's Tucker, one of my two "virtual" therapy dogs). Originally from “downstate" NY, my journey brought me to the scenic Finger Lakes area, where I pursued my passion for understanding human development and family dynamics, earning my BS at Cornell University.

My professional story began in early childhood education, nurturing the growth of infants, toddlers, and their parents. Building deep connections with families sparked a passion to contribute more profoundly to improving lives.

Encouraged by a friend, I pursued my MSW at Marywood University, marking the beginning of an enriching second phase in my career. For nearly two decades, I immersed myself in a school-based setting, engaging with children from K-12 and their families.

During that time, I became part of a private practice in Ithaca, broadening my scope to work with individuals across the lifespan. From supporting anxious kids to assisting couples in conflict resolution, my social work journey evolved into a diverse tapestry of experiences.

After nearly 20 fulfilling years as a therapist in my home state of NY, I embraced a “sea change” of my own, moving to the coastal beauty of North Carolina. In this new chapter, my focus is entirely on my private practice, where I find joy in joining and supporting people on their unique journeys.
